Kulwinder Singh is disciple of the world famous tabla maestro Ustad Alla Rakha Khan Sahib. Born in 1965 to Parshotam Singh and Shankar Kaur, he spent his childhood and early teens in Jalandhar, Punjab.
During his schooling, Kulwinder Singh developed keen Interest in Tabla and learned from his first teacher Master Pal Singh. In 1985 he served as the youngest tabla instructor in MGN Public School, Jalandhar. At the tender age of 21, Kulwinder Singh went to Mumbai, where he became a disciple of Khan Sahib and lived there for 7 years. Coming back to Punjab he worked as a Tabla player in Guru Nanak Dev University and later as Tabla Instructor in Jawaddi Taksal from 1994 to 2004. He was invited to spread the skills of Gurmat Sangeet by playing along religious hymns in Guru Nanak Sikh Centre in Brampton, Toronto, Canada and England in Years 1999-2000 and 2006 respectively.
Kulwinder Singh is teaching pure and traditional style tabla of his Guru from past 25 years to a wide web of students spread majorly across north India. Many of his students have stablished themselves and
are now well settled in India, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, UK, USA,Italy, and Canada. He gives credence to Khan Sahib’s family that he learns from them till date.
